Welcome to the ESM Module! Below are the steps to follow when setting up your church for ESM inspections:
Please Note: It is helpful to have your certificate of occupancy, maintenance determination, and/or a previous ESM Annual Statement to complete the tasks below.
1. Click the ‘+ New ESM Year’ button. Select the type of Safety Measures you require (based on the construction date of your church), then enter the Year that the ESM standards are being inspected for (e.g. 2022)
2. Go to the Property Details form and complete as much information as you can.
3. Go to the Site Specific Inspections and Overview form and review the inspections required for your property on your certificate of occupancy or maintenance determination.
a. For Monthly inspections, set the last month that an inspection was completed. If an inspection is not required, selected ‘Not Applicable’
b. For Quarterly inspections, set the last quarter that an inspection was completed. If an inspection is not required, selected ‘Not Applicable’
c. For Six-Monthly inspections, set the last period that an inspection was completed. If an inspection is not required, selected ‘Not Applicable’
d. For Annual inspections, set whether or not the inspection is completed. If an inspection is not required, selected ‘Not Applicable’
e. If you still have inspections that you have not entered that are required, use the ‘Additional Site Specific Inspections’ table on this form to capture this information.
4. Once all inspection details are entered, you are ready to start completing inspections month by month.
5. B-Safe is setup to be managed monthly. For each month that you access the system, navigate to the month overview (e.g. January Overview) to review which inspections need to be completed. Update progress to inspection in the Overview form and capture inspection details in the forms under the monthly overview.
